The Council Chairperson of University of Cape Coast, Mrs. Nancy Thompson has charged the university of Cape Coast to transform its knowledge and research base to attract funding from relevant stakeholders in order to improve and promote higher education.

She notes many stakeholders in higher education including governments and development partners strongly believe that the major resource that can have an enormous contribution to the sustainability of the development of countries is knowledge.

The Council chairperson made this call at the launch of the 2018-2022 University of Cape Coast Corporate Strategic Plan on Tuesday. The vision of the five-year Strategic Plan is for University of Cape Coast to be a university with a worldwide acclaim that is strongly positioned for innovative teaching, research and professional development.

Delivering her speech, Mrs. Thompson indicated that since the global tertiary education landscape is going through profound changes, competition in higher education in the global economy is becoming more ferocious. She believes this is characterized by trends in internationalization, fast evolution of ICT and also the making of learning more flexible.
