Mr. Rashid Kwesi Etuaful has been declared President of the national Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) for the 2016/2017 academic year after successful elections at the 22nd National Delegates Congress of GRASAG at the Tamale campus of the University for Development Studies.
The presidential position was fiercely contested by Mr. Rashid K. Etuaful, Mr. Percius Yabelang and Mr. Richmond Yeboah. Mr. Etuaful won the contest with 200 votes as against 47 and 83 votes of both Percius Yabelang and Richmond Yeboah respectively.
Mr. Etuaful after been declared President of national GRASAG for the 2016/2017 academic year revealed that his outfit is committed to improving the state of research among graduate students in Ghana.
He explained that, the major problem facing graduates with respect to research is funding. According to him, his outfit will establish a research fund to support graduates undertaking research. He revealed that the fund will be established by percentage of the dues paid by graduate students and donations from cooperate institutions.
In an interview with Radio Univers news, Mr. Etuaful also revealed that the Association under his leadership will make more advocacy and recommendations on national issues to help shape public discourse.
